Canned Food Drive   Daily in November: 10 am to 4 pm
During the month of November bring a donation of canned food or non-perishable food item to the Zoo for $1 off your admission! Benefits the Sacramento Food Bank and families in need.

Zoo Closed for Thanksgiving   November 26
Happy Thanksgiving! The Sacamento Zoo will be closed for Thanksgiving day. Please join us on November 27 for ThankZoo: Target Free Admission Day.

Bring the family out for a Target Free Admission Day! Yes, everyone gets in free thanks to Target. It also marks the end of our food drive benefiting the Sacramento Food Bank. Please consider bringing a canned food item when you visit the Zoo.

Toys for Tots Collection Site   Nov. 27 - Dec. 12: Daily 10 am to 4 pm
Bring a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots, and receive a free child’s admission ticket to the Sacramento Zoo to use at your convenience.

Holiday Magic: Target Free Admission Day   December 12: 10 am to 4 pm
Enjoy the holidays at the Zoo and watch as the animals unwrap their holiday goodies and enjoy free Zoo admission thanks to Target!

A beautiful menagerie of hand-carved, hand-painted, wooden carousel animals has arrived at the Sacramento Zoo. Sponsorships are also available.

Who we are!

Open since 1927, the Sacramento Zoo is home to over 140 native, rare and endangered species and is one of over 200 accredited institutions of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.  The Zoo is wholly managed by the nonprofit Sacramento Zoological Society and inspires conservation awareness through education and recreation.
